1 Month old

I can't believe that David is already a month old. The time has flown by and I am sad to see my little newborn growing up. It is fun to see your first baby grow and learn new things. It is hard to see your baby grow because you already know how fast it goes by. I am really trying to just enjoy him. I hold him more, talk to him more, just watch him sleep more. He is as close to heaven as I can get right now and I want to soak it all in.

David is always active and very alert. He loves to watch his siblings and is always grabbing for things. I am always amazed at how long he will just sit there, quietly, and watch the kids play. It is like he is memorizing what they are doing so he can do it too. He is not smiling yet but we know it is going to be an irresistible smile when it comes.

I think this picture is so funny and deceiving! David has put on good weight the last month but he is still a small baby and is not chunky. This picture makes him look like he is 20+ pounds with endless rolls :o) He looks a lot like Kevin to me in this picture, but Kevin's rolls were real!

David is loved by his siblings and his parents. None of us can get enough of him and he just has a spirit about him that makes you feel lighter, happier, more relaxed. We have felt, even before he was born, that David was a special spirit, but very simple too. He is a simple baby, very easy, very calm and I think that is spreading through our household. We could definitely use some simple calm around here.

David has not been circumcised. Strange to talk about I know but true. It is not by choice, just necessity for now. He has the condition that Kevin had and is passed down through me, go figure, and we have to wait until he is 5-6 months old and take him into a specialist to have it done then. We are hoping to have it done before the end of the year because our deductible is already met but I don't see that happening because he won't be 5 months till the end of December! Oh well.

We love our Baby David and are grateful everyday that he has joined our family. Nick and I were able to go to the Temple and while there we both felt like we are meant to have 1 more but that she won't be coming for awhile. We are both very grateful for that and plan on enjoying our newest bundle as much as we possibly can.
